报告人简介:
Prof. Adam Bezuijen is the former director of the Laboratory of Geotechnics at Ghent University and senior consultant at Deltares. He is a specialist in tunnelling, backward erosion piping, physical modelling in geotechnics and geotextiles. He was chairman of the normalisation committee CEN/TC 189 “Geosynthetics” and until this year chairman of ISSMGE TC204 “Underground construction in soft ground” and member of ISSMGE TC104 “Physical modelling in geotechnics”. He received a certificate of appreciation for “patriotic civilian service” from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for his contribution in fact finding and model tests for the New-Orleans levee system after the Katrina hurricane.
Prof. Timo Heimovaara is full professor of Geo-Environmental Engineering at the TU Delft. Since 2019 he chairs the department of Geoscience & Engineering within the faculty of Civil Engineering and Geo-sciences. His main research interests are focused around the question: How to use natural processes as engineering tools in the subsurface in order to achieve a more sustainable society? Prof. Timo Heimovaara is leading a project SoSEAL: Soil Sealing by Enhanced Aluminium and dissolved organic matter Leaching, to implement SoSEAL as counter measure for piping.
Dr. Viroon Kamchoom is an Associate Professor at Department of Civil Engineering and head of excellent centre for green and sustainable infrastructure, KMITL. His research expertise includes Geotechnical Infrastructure, Geo-Environmental Engineering and Ground Improvement. He was awarded fellowship from Hong Kong and Scottish government, to expands his cross-disciplinary research in UK. He has strong track records of academic-industrial collaboration and participated in major infrastructure projects in East and Southeast Asia. This includes the water diversion tunnel for Bhumibol dam, Hong Kong third airport runway, Batangas LNG Terminal, etc.
Dr. Juan Aguilar Lopez is assistant professor at TU Delft, with experience in research and consultancy for hydropower and flood defence related projects. He is interested in the use and implementation of technology (open hardware, innovative sensors and machine learning) in structures design and operation for flood risk management. Juan Pablo has also done research on innovative monitoring techniques of flood defences based on fiber optic cables acoustic sensing and in sewer systems Bayesian inference methods based on CCTV visual inspections information.
